Nuwisha

This book was not intended to be my first book review. I was expecting it to be the Get of Fenris. I'm biased towards them. I'll just throw that out now. I do intend to do a book review for them in the future. For now though the nuwisha and the were coyotes.

What first drew me to this book, was their gifts. They have some very unique and interesting gifts especially in regards to the umbra. they can also bring joy and laughter to those they come across and they are the ultimate ragabashes. That may not be appealing to some people, and I'm typically one of them, but I find that humor is, as the old adage goes, the best medicine.

Well, the nuwisha bring that knowledge of the umbra in the laughter to wherever they go. They are followers of Coyote, If you hadn't guessed.

I also find it very interesting how Coyote created many things. He created the different species of animals and humans. It was a good outlook and had very heavy ties to native Americans. Of course that's where a Coyote's original base was in North America.

The nuwisha are one of the Fera who can only have about 100 of their kind on the realm at one time. The rest of them stay in the umbra. One of the coolest things about them was that they are there to protect the umbra from the Wyrm altogether. They hide some of the unknown depths of the umbra so that he can't reach out and taint it.

If the Garou would just ask for the help, they would be happy to help to stop the apocalypse. It's the same with the Wyrm as well. If he had asked for help, Coyote would have been happy to help them get free of the Weaver's Web.

Overall I thought this was a good book. It was short and it gave good details straight to the point. The only thing I found missing quickly was that it didn't speak about the different forms of the Nuwisha. I found myself looking back through to see if it was there somewhere. I didn't see in the book but it is on the character sheet in the back. Otherwise I suggest taking a look through it. Even if tricksters aren't your thing, they still have some really neat gifts that are worth reading over at the very least.
