Assembly Area

I am listening to the Podcast episode on theurges. It reminded me of a real incident between some of the coast guard members I knew. I knew a Coprsman. She was very good at her job, someone IO wanted handy if I got hurt. She was explaining to me one day that while on an a beach she found a grenade. So, she brought the grenade to Post Police. They were not happy and she was confused as to why. She said "someone could have found it and been blown up" I said, "yeah, you. that is not safe to pick up." No one had explained the danger of unexploded ordnance to her. She complained that the Base Cops were mad at her for saving lives. The really funny part is, years later I worked for the guy who was at the desk. He told me the same story, and the results. THey had to call explosive ordnance disposal from a few hundred miles away to come and deal with it. It closed the building down for the day.
