Wendigo

Alright, here we go with the Mighty Wendigo. Tell us your thoughts on the "Little Brother" tribe. You heard us talk about them. Now you do that same thing. What did you like about what you heard? What did you not like? Is it really my fault?

There are definitely things we missed. We only read revised tribe books (original for Porter), but what kinds of things do you think are important that we left out that are worth mentioning. Tell us about it.

I talked about the Rage of the Children of Gaia over on the Child of Gaia thread. Let me say the wisdom of the Wendigo.

"When a wrong is done, it is not the wrong-doer who gets to say when the wrong is over, what makes sufficient restitution, or what displays sufficient penance. It is for us to say and it is for us to say that you have not yet begun while the wounds of wrongs are still kept fresh."

I'll agree that a loud drunk shouldn't be the voice. I'm not sure that Heals-The-Past is that great a voice, either. He's a white kid. He just hasn't dealt with what the Wendigo kinfolk have to deal with. One more white-savior story isn't what the First Nations people need.

And... and there are times here where I feel the need to say "okay, this book is a list of suggestions". Wendigo should be able to work with other Tribes out of necessity. That doesn't mean they have to like it or like the continued bigotries of the other Tribes. Maintaining their own culture in the face of a world that literally tried to beat that out of them does take some resolve that can come from anger. But there should be more allowances for complexity of situation.
